Christmas Around the World
Week Three: It’s a Small World. Isn’t Christmas lovely anywhere in the world? This week at Magical Holiday Home, we will be looking at Christmas around the world as part of the month long Christmas in July celebration. The customs and celebrations are as varied as the members of MHH and we look forward to sharing our ideas here at Rudolph Day.com
We’d love to hear about the special ways that you celebrate the “most wonderful time” of the year!
Christmas Charm Bracelet
Look what I found over at Easy Christmas Crafts. It’s a glitzy Christmas charm bracelet. I love the red and white beads and the little bells. It is adorable! The directions are over on the site, along with a materials list. These would also make cute gifts as well.
Twelve Days of Christmas Plates
I’m curious as to what you think of these Twelve Days of Christmas plates by Rosanna. I have mixed feelings. There’s a part of me that finds them clever artistic creations and a part of me that thinks they don’t really say: “Christmas”.
Thoughts? Do you know of other styles of the Twelve Days of Christmas plates that are available?

Christmas with the Muppets
Some of my favorite memories from when my children were small is watching the Muppets, especially the Muppets at Christmas! There are so many good ones that celebrate the season in a quirky family friendly way.
There’s a Muppets Christmas Carol, a muppet friendly version of the classic tale! I’d suggest the 50th anniversary version. Check out the reviews and places to buy HERE.
Then there’s a Green and Red Christmas audio featuring our faves, Kermit and Miss Piggy! Amazon has it for under ten dollars! HERE.
Another favorite: A Muppets Family Christmas. Check out a little clip of it on YouTube. It starts with the gang in a truck, snow and singing. Check it out HERE.
And then there’s a Very Merry Muppet Christmas, based loosely on It’s a Wonderful Life. You can check out the details of the movie in this review: HERE.
I feel as if I may be missing one….hmmm….if so please leave the title of it in the comments section….so I can add it to my list!
A Purple Christmas
Purple the color of royalty….a perfect color for Hollywood Royals…lol
Isn’t this the sweetest little butterfly. It would look so fresh and pretty nestled in the branches of the tree. They are available at Cherlaan They seem to be intended for wedddings but I think they would look sweet on a tree, especially in a little girl’s room!

Here’s a whole little group of purple baubles, so lovely paired with the green.

This is from a store display but look at the topper in purple and aqua and green. I can just see this on a tree with a bunch of little purple butterflies!!! this is shown over at the Trendy Tree blog and they have up lots more close up photos so be sure and check it out. Soooo cute!
No matter what your favorite color scheme is, it’s JULY….time to start thinking Christmas!! Merry Christmas in July. Don’t forget I love to hear from you, so please post a comment and tell me your favorite Christmas color scheme!!
A Christmas Carol
Hollywood knows how to do it up right. They either make sequels or remakes of anything that rings true at the box office. The traditional A Christmas Carol is no different.
It all started with A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Now there are so many versions I can’t possibly list them all.
There’s numerous cartoon versions. Including the classic Mickey’s Christmas Carol.
Then along came Barbie and she had to get a piece of the action too!
There’s the old movie version and the NEW movie version…..
Regardless, the story is a classic in the true tradition of Christmas…..until…..my daughter took her English class in college and studied the significance of much of the story. Evidently it’s a negative portrayal of a Jewish man, who knew? I thought it was about Scrooge and never even considered his ethnic or religious background. Needless to say she was quite disappointed and the class study of Dicken’s A Christmas Carol was not all she had hoped for. Me? I live in the land of hot chocolate and candycanes…so I’m going to keep seeing it as a lovely story of someone who came to love Christmas!
Glitzy and Gold
Look at this glitzy tablescape created by The Single Nester. So classic and the baubles are adorable! Again I feel like this is a display that you could put together with things you may already have on hand but just gather and use them in a different way!
